Although horse bedding made from wood pellets is slightly more expensive than those made from wood shavings, it is estimated that the use of pellets generally results in a saving in the order of 30-50% of the costs associated with its disposition and /or its valorization.

With its highly absorbent capacity, horse bedding pellets tend to agglomerate when wet  which prevents the spread of liquids and permits cleaning the box stall more quickly and efficiently, and at the same time, minimizing ammonia fumes caused by bacteria from the horse’s urine. These absorbent properties and organic breakdown make the end result a top quality fertilizer searched by many farmers.
